August 23, August 24, 2008 The Santa Clarita Area Campin’ Fools Camp Out  Castaic Lake Recreation Area. All kinds of stuff to do (at your own risk of course) and if you fish you must have a license. Starts at 10 am on the 23rd and 12 noon on the 24th. Camping donation: Adult $20, child 5 - 12 years $10, and children under 5 are free! There is an additional park entrance fee of $10 per car per day. Lunch and dinner served on the 23rd and continental breakfast is served on the 24th. Absolutely no entrance to the park after dusk so arrive early!

Friday, August 29, to Monday September 1, 2008 The Greater Los Angeles Area 17th Annual Labor Day Marathon at The Harbor Light Center, 809 East 5th Street, LA, CA 90013.  Speaker meetings and fellowshipping spanning the entire weekend. There will be a dance Sunday August 31, at 9:30pm to 1:30am.  $6.00 donation ($3.00 with court cards).  Monday September 1, there is a potluck at 2pm followed by a Family Feud Game at 3pm.  The daily schedules are on the flier which can also be downloaded from the page.

Friday, August 29, to Monday Sept. 1, 2008 Quest for Serenity Group of the Southern Antelope Valley Presents The Quest for Serenity Camp Out at Tehachapi Mountain Park in Tehachapi, CA. Registration includes a bunk in a heated, group style cabin, Friday night meal, Sat./Sun. breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday morning continental breakfast which will all be served in the dinning hall, for each adult registration a tee-shirt will be included not to mention all the fun you can legally have in one three day weekend. Overnight camping for this event is by pre registration only! If you can make it up for some daytime festivities then for $5.00 you can enjoy a meal. If you have a minimum of 4 years clean time then you should consider a workshop. Speakers that have spoken at SCRCNA in the past 4 years are not eligible.
